900MHz Digital Spread Spectrum operates in a much higher frequency range than conventional analog cordless phones, which operate between 43-49 MHz. Sony digital technology provides extended range performance with less noise and interference. Digital spread spectrum phones provide more range than any other type of cordless phone. Sony digital technology provides consistent, excellent sound quality. Digital Security -- Digital speech encoding ensures secure conversation between the cordless handset and base unit. Caller ID with Call Waiting Caller ID -- Lets you identify calls before you answer (or switch to Call-Waiting caller) by displaying the caller's name and phone number. Also stores the numbers/names of your last 20 callers, along with the date and time of each call. Jog Dial -- Gives you one finger access to directory and caller ID info stored in memory by name and number. Auto Channel Hopping -- Continuously scans all available channels to obtain a lower average noise level and therefore increase the range for your call. Memory match ID -- Lets you instantly identify callers you've assigned to the phone's memory by generating a distinctive ring. Out-of-Range Alert -- A beep and a LCD indication warn you when you've carried the handset too far from the base unit during a call. 50 Number memory -- Gives you quick access to numbers identified by the person's name.
